Crane Beach Family Session

Caroline & and her little girl braved a blustery day earlier this spring for a sweet and simple Motherhood Session at Crane Beach in Ipswich, Massachusetts. I was honored to capture Caroline and her curly haired cutie and the very special bond they share together.

Fall in New England Family Session

One of the creative challenges of working during a pandemic is figuring out how to host clients in a safe, comfortable environment. That meant thinking outside the box and often working with clients outdoors, near to their home. 2020 brought me to many different locations but one of my favorites has to be this beautiful, quiet piece of conservation land.

Singing Beach Family Photos

I first connected with Melissa when she reached out to me on Instagram. She had seen a recent family session that I had photographed at Singing Beach in Manchester and immediately connected with the vision of a modern lifestyle session at the beach. We picked a beautiful evening in August and enjoyed a quiet Singing Beach together. The waves gently rolled into shore and their darling daughter laughed with delight as she dipped her toes into the Atlantic Ocean.

Crane Beach Family Portraits

Part of what I love most about this job I have as a photographer is the opportunity to follow along with families throughout the years. Being able to have the opportunity to reconnect with couples and families year after year brings so much joy to my heart. So when Diana contacted me to help celebrate her daugther's second birthday with a portrait session, I was thrilled. This little cute, Olivia, has grown up before my camera - from her adorable six month portrait session to her first birthday and now as a full blown toddler who loves to run and jump and play, it has been so fun to watch them grow together!!

On a beautiful summer evening we met at one of my favorite portrait locations, Crane Beach, for a relaxed session together. Olivia got to play in the sand, run with Daddy, snuggle up with Mom and just enjoy being together. Here are some of my faves!!

Idyllic Fall Family Session at Wright Locke Farm

What can I say about this beautiful family?! I have had the joy of knowing Aubrey for many years now (how is that even possible?) and documenting her growing family year after year. After our session together this year, I went back and looked through the images we've taken together. It has been amazing to watch as her darling baby boy has grown into a sweet kiddo and as they welcomed their beautiful baby girl into the world. For this year's session we met at the idyllic Wright Locke Farm on a beautiful fall morning. We wandered the property as the kids explored to their hearts content. It was a joy to help them celebrate another year together with photography. I'm so grateful for the clients and families who value the importance photography and ask me to help them document the meaningful moments of life together!! Enjoy some of my faves!!

How To Plan Stress Free Family Formals

In the fourth post of the DZP Wedding Planning Series, we'll be chatting about to plan stress free family formals. The success of family formals on the wedding day is in the planning. Often, the idea of photographing grouping after grouping can seem overwhelming, to you, your family and your photographer. While it may seem like this is an easy and quick part of the wedding day -- when you are working with larger groups of people things can quickly become confusing, complicated and down right stressful. Today I'll be sharing my best tips on how to make this time with your loved ones, easy, stress free and enjoyable.

At Home Family Session in Boston's South End

Diana and Ankur welcomed their darling baby girl Olivia into the world earlier this year. Being the Holidays and the start of a new year just around the corner, they wanted to celebrate their family of three with a portrait session in their home.

On a chilly December afternoon we snuggled up in Olivia's nursery, a beautiful ode to all things pink, grey and cream. Olivia bounced in her crib, snuggled in her father's arms and giggled at the silly sounds Mom would make to get her to smile. It was lovely time and I feel so thankful to have had the opportunity to meet and photograph this beautiful family.

At home sessions are some of my favorite to photograph. Clean, bring space where my clients can feel comfortable and relaxed. They are a mix of lifestyle and posed portraiture. But most important they focus on the deep connection my clients have to each other. And when I can capture that on my camera -- well that's the good stuff.

Thank you Diana & Ankur for welcoming me to your home!! Gosh those baby cheeks, they are the best!! Enjoy some of my favorite images!!

Life Captured: Meet The Schmidts

Remember that time when we went to Chicago? We'll I'm finally getting the chance to blog some of it! Part of the reason for our trip was to visist my aunt and uncle. The second was to see our dear friends, TJ and Tricia, who you get to meet today! I feel like The Schmidts have become an honorary family on the Deborah Zoe Photo blog. I mean they've been featured on here over three times! First there was when Tricia was pregnant with their first baby Mason. Then of course Mason had to be featured in all his adorable newborn-ness which you can see here and here. And now their second precious baby, Julia, has her very own blog post (which she is graciously sharing with her brother;)). I love these four, so, so, SO, much and being able to send a few days with them at their new home made my heart incredibly happy. While I still wish they lived in Boston, being able to see them becoming settled and happy in their new life in Wisconsin makes me joyful:) Thanks goodness for things like Skype, Facebook and texting. Ya know, for those times when we just need to talk while shopping at Target. (And Tricia, I'm still waiting on my 4:30am wakeup call from Mason;)) So everyone, meet one of my favorite families, The Schmidts:)!
