I first connected with Melissa when she reached out to me on Instagram. She had seen a recent family session that I had photographed at Singing Beach in Manchester and immediately connected with the vision of a modern lifestyle session at the beach. We picked a beautiful evening in August and enjoyed a quiet Singing Beach together. The waves gently rolled into shore and their darling daughter laughed with delight as she dipped her toes into the Atlantic Ocean. While it was my first time meeting this sweet family of three, it felt like I had known them prior and they found themselves at ease in front of the camera, just happy to delight in their daughter. Of course this made photographing their family a dream for me!
After their session at Singing Beach, Melissa then revealed to me the incredibly journey that led them to that point and why this session meant so much to them. Her daughter’s arrival into the world was frantic and chaotic and they were unsure of her future. Thankfully her daughter is now thriving and surpassing every goal and expectation. For them, this session was a milestone and a celebration of just how far Melissa and her daughter have come together since she was born.
As a photographer, that’s exactly what I hope for every time I click the shutter and create for my clients. I want to honor their stories and preserve forever the many stages and triumphs families will have together over time.
