I love working with black and white images. Maybe it’s because I learned photography through black and white film work. Maybe it’s because some of the first photographers I became familiar with worked in black and white. Perhaps it’s the simplicity of a black and white image that draws me in the most.
So when a client comes to me and shares that they love black and white images, the creative in my heart soars. I delighted in creating a collection of black and white images for this family as they welcomed their son home.
Even after all these years I still find see and appreciate the magic of a still frame, a simple black and white image and the power photography has to share the story of life.

Crane Beach is simply a dream location for family portraits and on a gorgeous spring evening it boasted in all it’s glory for this special family. As long time clients, it was a special treat for me to have this family in front of my lens once again, documenting how their family has grown over the years. Each kiddo with their own unique personality, mixed with snippets of Mom and Dad.
Their newest addition was the star of the show with her sweet baby rolls and giggly smile. Her older brothers enjoyed doting on their baby sister with lots of hugs and kisses to go around. Our goal was relaxed, beach-y vibes, digging toes in the sand and enjoying the first days of warm spring weather. Looking back at these images, I can feel the soft sand, the warm breeze on my skin and love this family shares.

With a name like Georgia, you’re bound to be as sweet as a peach. I had the privilege of meeting this little fighter shortly after she joined her family at home, much to the delight of her parents.
A nursery dedicated to all things girly & peach provided the perfect backdrop for this darling session. With an easy approach keeping the focus on comfort, Mom, Dad and Baby enjoyed a relaxing session together while celebrating the big and small milestones that brought them to that exact place - at home with their sweet baby girl.

On a very blustery Cape Cod evening, I reconnected with long time clients to celebrate how their family has grown over the years. What a treat to meet their two beautiful girls while enjoying the soft sand and cotton candy skies. The evening was filled with giggles and hugs - and an overwhelming appreciation for health, family and being together. These are the moments that become cherished memories - they are not big or flashy. Rather it’s the small and intimate times we share together, just as we are, that often stay planted in our hearts forever.

She had a specific image she hoped to create as part of her session with her two little girls. I knew immediately that this image would become the banner image of the Motherhood Sessions. Earlier this spring I had the joy of capturing Kristen in her first few weeks of Motherhood as part of the Motherhood Sessions hosted at The Tannery Loft by Kadeema Rentals. It was such an honor to help Kristen celebrate this new season of her life and the relationship she shares with her little Charlie. Kristen wore a beautiful BHDLN gown that perfectly complimented the quiet and simple nature of her session. I’m so thankful Kristen trusted my vision in capturing Motherhood and for the opportunity to celebrate her new role as Mom.

Read MoreWelcome to 2018!! One of my favorite ways to start the new year is to reflect on the year past and gather together my favorite images from the last 12 months. I'm reminded again of how much I love this "job", being invited into my clients' lives and documenting the precious milestones of life. (You can view the Best of 2016 here.) Pulling together my favorite images of the year is no easy task -- how can I choose? Each image feels so dear to me. I remember exactly where I was and what was happening in that moment. Joyful, quiet, intimate, happy, reflective, emotive, connected moments. Every time I clicked the shutter I have the opportunity to capture these moments in time for my clients. It feels so dear indeed.
To kick of the Best of Series I'm sharing some of my favorite portrait images of 2017!! I was happy this year to include film into nearly all my portrait sessions which was a creative add for me. My clients seemed to love that and I thoroughly enjoyed stretching my skill in film. I've got a long way to go, but I'm proud of how it tied together, nearly seamlessly, with my digital work!!
So let's get to the images shall we?! I was pleased to be invited back into the lives of my dear past wedding clients as they expanded their families this year... how lovely to see these lovely families growing!! Here's to 2017 and celebrating the big and small moments of life!!
