Colleen and Carl have been on quite the journey this past year or so, not entirely sure they would see their wedding day come to fruition. With major health set backs for Carl, Colleen and Carl ended up postponing their scheduled wedding day last year, unsure if or when they would reschedule. But over a year later with Carl in good health, they tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony this past weekend at Boston's historic Old South Church.
It was a day filled with joy and gratitude. Carl, Colleen and their guests knew just how lucky they were to be witnessing the union of this deserving couple - it made the day sweet, savored. Being around such happiness with such appreciate for the wedding day, was a joy and honor to photograph.
Carl & Colleen chose the beautiful and elegant Fairmont Copley Plaza for their reception. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the hotel and staff who ensured that Carl & Colleen's wedding day went off without a hitch. The night was spent enjoying delicious food, catching up with loved ones and dancing- oh so much dancing!! To see this sweet couple tearing up the dance floor was a sight to behold and one everyone in the room was grateful to see!! I mean who doesn't love a rollicking rendition of Wild Rover? This redhead was in pure wedding/Irish drinking song/happy heaven!!
Please enjoy some of my favorites of this precious day at the Fairmont Copley Plaza!! Read More
Though Stephanie and Rick went to the same high school, it took a chance meeting years later through friends for a real introduction. With the help of friends and Rick's sister the two connected and the rest is history!
This past weekend they celebrated under the stars with close family and friends in a beautiful backyard wedding. The couple chose the home of Stephanie's grandparents, where she grew up and where she has many fond memories. When it came time to plan their wedding day, Stephanie and Rick knew that this house was the perfect location.
Tucked away down a winding dirt road on Baddacook Pond in Groton, the property felt like a hidden oasis. Cocktail hour was hosted out front with drinks, appetizers and lawn games. The reception was hosted out back under a sail cloth tent and sweeping views of the property and adjacent pond. Beth of Fetching Events was on hand to ensure that the day flowed smoothly and everything came together perfectly.
The homey feeling of the property, the sweeping views and the personal connection that Stephanie and Rick had to the place and their families truly made the night feel magical!! -- enjoy some of my favorite images!! Read More
Elissa & Scott just moved back to the Boston area after living in the south for the past few years. It's been a transition Elissa has looked for to for some time (hello four seasons!!) so when it came time to plan their engagement session, she knew the perfect spot : her Mom's backyard!! The location is sentimental to Elissa but also represents the start of their new life here in New England. Scott & Elissa brought music and a bottle of champagne to celebrate and I loved how personal and relaxed their session felt -- the perfect fit for this easygoing couple!!
Elissa & Scott are a photographer's dream, they completely trusted me to capture their relationship and gave me a chance to experiment and try things I don't normally do (like making my couple run through a field a million times :-P) just to get a different kind of image.
Elissa & Scott will be getting married next summer at Moraine Farm on Boston's North Shore and I couldn't be more excited to capture their gorgeous wedding!! Enjoy their rustic & charming New England engagement session (and don't miss Elissa's GORGEOUS ring!!) Read More
This past weekend the Hubs and I jumped in the car and headed down to Brooklyn to visit with our dear friends who are expecting their second baby later this summer. It was a bright and beautiful weekend and Brooklyn felt alive with people out and about enjoying the parks and gorgeous weather. Dave and I revel in any opportunity to visit Courtney & Dave in New York and I was honored to be asked to photograph such a special time in their lives.
Courtney chose Cobble Hill, a charming area of Brooklyn filled with leafy green trees, brownstones and families milling about. We managed to sneak away from the crowds and found the perfect side street for their session. Every time we have the opportunity to visit Brooklyn I'm always struck but how small this big borough feels. Filled with neighborhood charm, families, coffee shops, people sitting on this stoops, kids riding bikes, it's know wonder why these two just love it so! Read More
I just love these two brave souls who got up before the sun for their early morning engagement session in the Public Gardens. Living in the Boston area they wanted their engagement session to be a reflection of quintessential Boston. But anyone who knows Boston knows that this part of town is filled with tourists and locals alike later into the day. So how do you go about making the Public Gardens look empty? Begin your session at 6am ;).
I love Erica & Mark's go with the flow attitude -- they are a confident couple who are comfortable in their own skin and have a deep connection to each other. Best friends. What a joy to photograph!!
Later this year they will be tying the knot in a quintessential Bostonian wedding at the Fairmont Copley Plaza (sensing a theme here?) I cannot wait to photograph this sweet couple again in a place that is near and dear to their hearts!! Read More
I couldn't have been more excited to receive an email from Matt & Erika following their recent engagement this past spring. I've known Matt now for several years having had the opportunity to photograph his sister's wedding in 2012 and his brother's wedding last fall. Being able to be a part of the Tice family's life events has been a highlight as a photographer and so I was delighted to be asked by Erika & Matt to photograph their engagement!!
Matt & Erika picked the North End, where they live, as the backdrop for their engagement session. I arrived to their adorable apartment where they relaxed with champagne and cannolis, a North End staple. After enjoying some sweets, we meandered through the North End's maze of streets visiting some of Matt & Erika's favorite spots in this quaint and famous Boston neighborhood. They even managed to gobble down some slices of gooey pizza on a side alley street. If that doesn't scream North End I don't know what does!! Read More
Grace & Sam met while studying at MIT -- they are an incredibly smart couple. This was made clearly evident during their reception as their Best Man and Matron of Honor shared countless stories of how Grace & Sam have used their intelligence to serve others. I think that's what I love most about these two. Both very smart but also incredibly generous. Sam and Grace spend much of their free time teaching, encouraging and lifting others up -- leading by example and using their knowledge to help others.
Lovers of board games and bubble tea they chose to fill their wedding day with details that reflected their unique personalities and interests as a couple. Friends and family gathered from Boston and across the globe to celebrate with them -- the church and reception were packed with loved ones. Grace and Sam walked down the aisle to raucous cheers and HOORAYS, you could feel how loved this sweet couple is. Read More
Last week I had the pleasure of meeting Kate & James at Duxbury Beach, a place where they spend lots of time together as a family. They are lucky to live close by enough for impromtu trips after work or weekend days spent with toes in the sand. Not only did it make for a beautiful setting but it was a place they feel deeply connected too.
With the sun beginning to rise on a June morning I met with Kate, James their their five little ones for a casual and relaxed family session on the beach. I wanted their session to feel comfortable, approachable and reflect how much love this family shares together. If there was one word I walked away with from this session, it would be love. An abundance of love. Read More
