Nick and Stephanie are one of those couples who make anyone feel immediately at ease in their presence. Even my husband who is self admittedly not the most sociable (I mean hey, he's an engineer!) said after our styled shoot, "We need to hang out with Nick and Steph more!" And it's true, these two make you feel like old friends. They are just genuine people from the inside out.
This month they are celebrating their one month anniversary and I couldn't be happier to share their story with you here! Happy Anniversary Nick and Stephanie, here's to many more years of learning, exploring and growing together!!
D -- Happy anniversary! I simply cannot believe that it has been a year since your wedding!! Has time flown by for you too?

N&S -- It's amazing how fast the first year of marriage has gone by. If you blink, you could risk missing something. Good thing we've got so many more years to come!D -- What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?
N&S -- Nick - Seeing Stephanie walk down the aisle. Of course we had done the First Look, but seeing her on her father's arm, with all of our friends and family in attendance, coming down to marry me - I'll never forget that feeling. My face started to hurt from smiling so much.

Steph - Everything was amazing, but being able to see Nick before the wedding kept me grounded. The First Look was a way to just take a deep breath and spend time one on one before the craziness of the rest of the day. And my sister's speech was pretty memorable as well. It's so important to me that my family loves Nick as much as I do.D -- What has been the best thing that has happened to you as a couple since your wedding last year?

N&S -- Bringing everything together in marriage is different than just living together. By really sitting down and figuring out our future life, we've gained perspective, and have set some goals that we look forward to working towards together. We both knew that the other was responsible, but making progress towards our common goals has been very rewarding. D -- What have you learned about each other over this past year?
N&S -- Nick - I always knew that Steph was passionate about her job as an RN in women's health, but seeing her make the effort to apply for an NP program (and get in!) as well as her commitment to activities above and beyond just those of her workday has even further increased my respect for her and her dedication to the issues.

Steph - Nick is constantly evolving as a person. He is always willing to try a new experience or to learn a new skill. He might ask a lot of questions (which tends to drive me crazy, especially when I'm teaching him how to cook!), but he's always willing and eager to try something new even if it takes him out of his comfort zone. D -- Traveled anywhere fun?

N&S -- We had an amazing honeymoon in Mexico right after the wedding. Then we took a spontaneous trip to Turks and Caicos this spring. It was an awesome, relaxing trip and we enjoyed some quality time together, and some new experiences (who knew conch was so tasty?!). And now we are headed to Kennebunkport, ME to celebrate our first anniversary!D -- Any tips you can offer newlyweds for their first year of marriage?

N&S -- Being married isn't a magic trick that makes relationships effortless - both people still need to continue to make the same efforts that made the other fall so much in love with them. Saying "I do" is just the beginning!
