There is something truly magical about the Maine Coast, it’s no wonder that people fall in love with this beautiful place. On particular August summer evening, as I listened to the water wash over the rocky beach, digging my toes into the soft sand, watching as the sun softly sets on the horizon, sometimes I am taken aback at how lucky I am to be asked to photograph couples and families in such magical places.

Last summer while vacationing in Kennebunkport, Maine, Sophia invited me to capture her family as they enjoyed a relaxed evening at one of their favorite beaches. Across the street from where they were married, they reveled in sharing this special place with their daughter, watching as she wiggled in the soft sand and explored the abundant nature all around her.

We were gifted with one of the most beautiful sunsets, (after a brief and unexpected rain!) reminding me of just how special and beautiful New England is. Having grown up here you might think I would take for granted how lucky I am to live so close to the ocean and the coast. But even after all this time, the beauty of this place never ceases to amaze me and leaves me in wonder to get to call this place home.
