Chaise : Urban OutiffersI became a little obssessed with Rifle’s wedding illustrations…they are just too perfect!!This clock has been with me for a LONG time and it fits perfectly in the new space!!There she is, my first camera. I’ve been not so secretly dying to get some film and start playing with her again:)Right by my desk is a small frame that holds one of my favorite pictures of Jonathan and I. It’s a reminder to me, especially on those hard days as an artist and business owner, that my purpose is not in my job. I do what I love so I can serve my clients well but most importantly serve and love my family. When choosing pieces for the new desk, I decided to add a secondary work station for interns, possibly a future studio manager as well as a space for Dave to use when he works from home. I also added LOTS of filing and storage space!!In addition to all the pretty pictures I wanted to include a picture of Dave and I on our wedding day:)The cork board serves as a piece of inspiration, a place where I can display and be reminded of the things that I love. Here are just a few snippets. A new office requirement? Fresh flowers of course!!There she is, the new office…what do you think?!And a little before action….here is what the room looked like when we moved in:). Now for the giveaway!!

YEAH! I have been waiting to see your finished office. Even though my business colors are blue, I grew up loving pink! I love everything about your new office…so beautiful, classy and light. Congratulations on your new beautiful space and thank you for sharing! I am not in the middle of any projects right now, but as a photographer 1 decorating tip I have is when the time comes to get family photos taken wear clothes that will look good in the room you want to place the photos. Our living room is decorated in natural colors and a few years ago we had Christmas photos taken of our family to where we were all wearing purple and gray. The photos just don’t look right in our living room. Just something to think about when planning family photos 🙂 Thanks again Deborah!!!
Deb! It’s beautiful. So very fresh, light and airy. It looks like a tightly organized space that is very conducive to getting work done, but also a relaxing area to enjoy what you do. My favorite decorating tip: It all doesn’t have to get done at once. Decorating can be a process, and honestly as a process, you learn a lot about yourself – both practically and aesthetically. Although you may love how something looks in a magazine, going through the process shows you what works and what doesn’t work for you. Discovering how you truly function in a space is very valuable! It helps you to cater elements for your personal working, find new ways to be better organized, de-clutter, establish your image, and finally, develop YOUR space. Thanks for sharing your beautiful office. I am starting my journey of design of mine this weekend. I can’t decide – Kelly Green or Navy?! haha.
God Bless!
I was so excited to see this!!! It’s absolutely beautiful. If I may go ahead and play my favorite part game – the wall color! Everything else is amazing, but it all has the most prefect backdrop. Isn’t it fun to design a room on your taste? and not have to worry about boys? I did that in my craft space and it was so fun! http://18preston.blogspot.com/2014/06/meg-gets-craft-room.html
Deb!! Beautiful office space–I love seeing your before and afters! My favorite part of this post is your photo with you and Jonathan as a reminder that ultimately, your business does not define you, but instead serves as a way to love and care for your family. Pat and I recently tackled my office space and it was easy to feel overwhelmed and discouraged as the weeks went by and things were still not finished! But little by little, over time, things fall into place and I love seeing spaces like yours which tell a story and reflect the person behind them! Also love seeing your "Go & Do" Lara Casey inspiration! I have a similar "Done is Better Than Perfect" card hanging in my office 🙂 Congrats!!!
We have a very similar wall color in our living room and I love it! It’s so airy and light. Paint is great because it can be a backdrop OR an accent. Since our house isn’t all that big, we painted the living room light gray and I picked 2 bright colors – lime green and turquoise blue – as accents. Sticking with two accent colors allows you to play with patterns and designs while still having everything come together as one cohesive space. Too many colors can be overwhelming. That’s why I love your pink and gray 🙂 Looks great!
i. love. it.It’s so you!!!! I cant imagine how good that feels.
My decorating tip is to know what you need space for before you start designing your space ! So many people just paint a new room and fill it with furnishings before the figure out what their needs are. I’m glad to see you took some time to plan ahead!
Also, my favorite organizational decorating products are by Thirty One Gifts. They have terrific home office solutions of baskets, basket liners, cubes, filing accessories, wall hanging organizers, et. 🙂
I LOVE IT DEB!!!! It’s soooo you! Absolutely gorgeous all the way through every detail. Honestly I wish our office looked half this good! Usually it’s loose papers, stacks of folders, post-its everywhere and on a good day, I can find my keyboard. This just may be the inspiration I need to get a makeover going on here at our office! Maybe that will be Jared’s winter project 😉 My favorite decorating tip is to surround yourself with things that inspire you and make you smile! It will make your day that much more enjoyable 🙂 And it looks like you’ve done just that!!
It looks so beautiful and Organized!!! All that filing space will never go to waste!
Looks AH-MAZING!!! It’s so bright and modern!! I’m all into re-decorating right now to brighten up my house! All about lighter paint colors to help a room look bigger and brighter!!!
I’m not sure that I have any decorating tips b/c I am actually HORRIBLE at decorating, at least in the traditional way. But I do love your office! I guess my tip is just to use things that MEAN something to you & your family. My husband & I decorate with things as diverse as old whiskey bottles shaped like turkeys to Hard Rock Cafe glasses to stuffed animals to canvases of our favorite landscape photos (mountains, waterfalls, etc), & of course our wedding photos. There is no coherent theme to any of our decorating other than the things we decorate with MEAN something to us. They aren’t just random store-bought things that look nice. We’ll definitely never win any awards for interior decorating, but for us it works.
LOVE IT!!! so beautiful and so you! I’ve been anxiously waiting for it to be revealed! I’m currently in the process of re-decorating my office and living room so I loved all the tips!My way of doing it is super budget friendly since the re-decorating was totally unplanned and TWO rooms was a bit much! I’ve gotten so many cute things from Target and HomeGoods and the rest from Ikea. A few of the bigger pieces, couch, coffee table, etc, I picked out at Ikea and on streaks of luck, found the same almost-new pieces on Craigslist for a fraction of the price. A little re-finishing and new slipcovers and no one will ever be able to tell! (well, except you because I just told you 😉 ). The office looks gorge and I look forward to seeing it in person one day!
Nothing like a giveaway to bring out all the people who read your blog but never comment (like me!). I honestly have no decorating tips as I feel very untalented in this area – hence the reason we’ve lived in my house for a year and there is nothing on the walls 🙂
I like to save money, so my tip would be to be resourceful. Re-purpose things you may already have laying around. Also, Pinterest is a great place to get affordable DIY ideas.
I covet this office. Seriously, so beautiful. Really. Everything is so thoughtful and pleasing to the eye and it just is relaxing and inviting; professional and fresh. Love everything!
I adore your office, how gorgeous!! Would you mind sharing your paint color? It is dreamy!
