Jonathan was just a few months old and I was in desperate need of someone who could watch my little baby for a few hours a week. I remember sharing my frustration with a group of friends — this Mama thing was hard. And it was in that moment that Melissa offered to come over to watch Jonathan a few days a week — to give me relief and an opportunity to work. What started as a babysitting job for a three month old turned into a friendship that I now treasure. What joy it was to celebrate with Melissa as she became a wife this past weekend!
Kenny and Melissa have been together since high school and so their wedding had become something very special to them. It marked the end of one chapter of their relationship but opened the doors to something new and exciting. One of my favorite moments of the day was as the doors to the Martha Mary Chapel opened and Melissa appeared. Kenny’s eyes filled with tears, overcome with this moment and all that it meant for them. Years together already but a lifetime of adventures ahead.
The day was filled with pink and blush florals (you know this photographer was swooning all day!) and classic New England touches like Melissa’s delicate laced gown, the quaint white chapel or the heirloom tie pin Kenny wore. Melissa and Kenny made sure to thoughtfully bring together all the details of their day.
Kenny and Melissa, thank you for inviting me and my team to be a part of your day. It was a joy to celebrate alongside you as you became partners in life. I cannot wait to see where this next chapter of life takes you two!! Enjoy your images!!
