An Anniversary Session at the Allan House
I’ve known Amy since my freshman year of college when, on the last day of school, we awkwardly hugged and wished each other a great summer. Amy swears she remembers what I was wearing, I on the other hand barely remember the interaction. But here we are more than a decade later, married, home owners, professionals and practically all grown up;)! It’s wonderful to walk through life together, and I’m so grateful for our friendship with Amy and Jon. While we don’t get to see them much, since they live in Austin, every time we get together, we pick up where we left off. We cherish our friendship with them!
Amy and Jon will be celebrating their eighth wedding anniversary later this year and Amy really wanted to have some new and updated pictures with Jon. The last time they were in front of the camera was their on their wedding day and so they were definitely due for some new images! I think it is so incredibly important to document all the stages of life together, not just the wedding day! For Jon and Amy, they’ve started a whole new life together in Texas and are in a completely different place in their marriage than they were eight years ago. These images are a celebration of just how far they have come together as a couple and the joy that their marriage and relationship has given them. As a photographer, I absolutely love being able to celebrate that through images!
We started the session at the Allan House in downtown Austin. A popular wedding venue, the house has a historic charm and very Texas feel. It was the perfect backdrop for their session! Enjoy!I just adore these two!How cute are they?!Nothing beats a good twirling photo! My favorite from the day!As the sun set lower in the sky we ventured to Barton Springs for a more natural backdrop. How cool is this dried up river bed?!
