Well Wed Magazine & Southern New England Weddings
The end of 2014 was an exciting time for DZP! Two print publications were released that featured lovely DZP couples... a dream come true for me and an honor for my clients whose beautiful weddings were highlighted! I was delighted that Southern New England Weddings loved Mark and Marlo's Newport wedding as much as I did! I couldn't imagine a better couple to share in the fun of my first full feature wedding in print!
Add to the fun my first print ad was also featured in WellWed Magazine! I've been a huge fan of WellWed since the inception of my business (it's the perfect resource of the Bride planning the perfectly preppy New England wedding). To be a part of one of their issues is a HUGE honor. I'm even more delighted to have been able to share Pat & Lauren's wedding. (It's one of my fave images, ever!)
Thank you so the many amazing vendors who contributed to each couple's spectatular wedding days as well as the fantastic publications that featured these amazing couples! For a complete list of vendors and venues please explore these posts below :
Hello from sunny Austin! In case you didn't know we are traveling again, this time to the Lone Star state to visit our dear friends. This is Dave's first time in Texas so rest assured we'll be indulging in yummy BBQ and for me copious amounts of country music. YEA!! While we're away I thought I'd share a few recent features of some lovely 2013 couples on some of my favorite wedding blogs! It truly is an honor to be featured on each of these publications and I am so grateful to the editors for showcasing the lovely weddings of each of my lovely couples! Happy Thursday!
It's getting closer!! Wedding season is almost in full swing. If I were being completely honest, boy how I wouldn't mind another month or two before things get started;) I have so much I need to check off my to do list before that happens! Here's hoping for a productive April! This lead up to the start of wedding season has been a busy one! I've been working furiously behind the scenes to get everything together to run smoothly in the coming months. I've also had the pleasure of sharing several engagements and weddings from last year with a few wedding blogs. I'm so excited about these features below so I hope you take a a few minutes to check them out! Here's to wedding season!
OUT OF THE OFFICE: February 18-24 2012
Tomorrow I'll be making my way to Las Vegas for WPPI, an annual gathering of photographers from all across the world and one of the largest photography conventions, anywhere. No doubt I'll be filling notebooks full of knowledge, collecting a massive amounts of business cards and enjoying lots and lots of yummy food and good friends. I'll be returning next Friday but before I left, I wanted to share with you some fabulous recent features! Make sure to check out them out below!
ME!! On Justin & Mary's blog!
Lots and lots to share with you on this dreary Friday! Perhaps some lovely features will cheer up this gloomy mood?! As you might all know I LOVE wedding blogs and I love submitting the real engagements and weddings of my fabulous couples. Plain and simple, the easiest, fastest and most effective way of doing this is with Two Bright Lights. I could chat your ear off about submitting and getting published, but that's a post for another day. I'll just leave it at Two Bright Lights, signup and start submitting, it's definitely worth your investment! First up is Jared & Kristen's spring Fenway engagement on A Paper Proposal. Just looking these photos again made me yearn for warm sunny afternoons with the trees in bloom and a soft breeze blowing through my hair. Oh and for the start of baseball! Ack, winter. If you're feeling like I am, make sure to check out this feature. Draped in my warmest blanket and seven layers of clothes, if I concentrate just hard enough, I can almost picture us back there....almost. Thank you so much Sarah for featuring this lovely couple and for reminding me that spring is coming!
Borrowed & Bleu recently featured Debs & Alex's engagement session up in Ogunquit, Maine. The dramatic skies, dancing on the beach, dodging the rain and fun with ice cream, it's not to be missed! Thank you Borrowed & Bleu!!
What can I say about Diana? I'm so grateful I had the opportunity to work with her over this past year! I am also grateful that she allowed me the chance to work with Brian and Lisa! Everyone that worked together for this wedding all left feeling to privileged that we were able to do so. Diana does a much better job at expressing our collective gratitude so head on over to her blog and read more:) And if you were thinking about hiring a wedding planner, make sure to contact Diana, she is simply amazing at what she does!
Today is going to be an all out Brian and Lisa love fest BECAUSE I have two more amazing features showcasing their beautiful wedding! A few weeks ago, Diana sent out a surprise message that announced a feature she had been working on with the Union Leader. Brian and Lisa's wedding headed up the newspaper's bridal pullout with a BIG picture from their wedding day! I may have danced around the house when I found out. I'm not sure why I get so excited, I used to be published every. single. day. when I worked as a news photographer. But there is something different when you're a small business owner. I'm not going to lie, to see your hard work recognized is quite humbling and amazingly exciting. And no matter how big or small a feature may be, I am always excited and proud to see a client's wedding showcased in a public way!
When Seacoast Weddings contacted me to let me know they were going to use an image from Brian and Lisa's wedding, I just about fainted. A real wedding magazine! My first print feature! I probably couldn't have been more excited! I am like a proud mama, so excited for her clients and excited to have an image chosen to be published. Thank you so much Seacoast Weddings for helping me mark this milestone in my business! I couldn't be happier that I can cross this off my business bucket list with such a wonderful publication!
Thank you to all of the recent publications, online or in print that have featured the lovely couples I've had the privilege to work with this past year. And many, MANY, thanks to the wonderful couples who choose to put their trust in me to document such an important time in their life. Without your hard work and attention to detail none of these features would have been possible. These announcements are meaningless without my deepest heart felt gratitude towards you. You've helped make my dreams become reality. I can't imagine getting to work with better people and I'm so grateful to call you all friends. THANK YOU!
Is it cheating if I include a recent blog feature starring my husband and I in this blog series? No? Ok! Well then you won't mind as I gush for a few moments on the fact that our Love Recaptured anniversary session was recently featured on Style Me Pretty! Soon after our photographer Katelyn, shot the session she sent me a message saying that SMP had picked up the session to feature on their Massachusetts SMP blog. And then I proceeded to freak out, excitedly explaining to the hubster that we, us, me and him, were going to be on Style Me Pretty! It was so fun to be on the "bride" side of being featured, especially on such a prestigious wedding blog like Style Me Pretty. And looking back on this feature and our shoot, is such a great reminder that I married the best man. Ever! Check out the feature here!
Another wedding blog that I absolutely adore is Heart Love Weddings by blogger Alexandra Beauregard. I first heard of this blog when Alex randomly selected an image from Josiah and Allison's Love Recaptured session this past summer. I was stunned and honored that she chose to use one of my images! I immediately fell in love with her writing and her beautiful brand and I am so excited to work with her again on another upcoming feature:) Recently Alexandra featured Josiah and Allison's session in it's entirety, which you can see here.
I just had to include this image in this post. After featuring Josiah and Allison's session, Alexandra sent ME a thank you package with a note and some delicious candy. Shouldn't I be the one doing thanking?? It was such a delicious (hehe) surprise. What a great way to connect deeper with the photographers and vendors that you feature beyond just a thank you email! Plus now I am a fan for life!;) Thank you Alexandra!!
I don't know about you, but I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that two days from now is Thanksgiving. And while I am probably more excited than anyone about the fact I'm going to get to eat some yummy turkey, stuffing and green bean casserole, I just can't believe how fast this year has flown by! It seems like yesterday that I first started talking with my awesome couples about their upcoming 2011 weddings. How far away it seemed at the time and yet here we are over a year later! I've had a great season with some of the best clients and couples a girl could ask for and I have been so blessed to be able to see some of their beautiful weddings published on the web! I'm so humbled when a blog chooses to showcase my photography and highlight the hard work of my couples. It's a super exciting experience both for me and for my clients. After spending typically over a year planning out all the small details that go into a wedding day, it sure is gratifying to see it highlighted on a wedding blog!
One of my deserving brides, Cassandra, who did ALL of the details of her wedding day by hand, had her beautiful wedding featured recently on Style Me Pretty. While super exciting for Cassandra, it was also a dream come true for me the photographer! Style Me Pretty is one of the top wedding blogs anywhere so be able to see my work there is quite the honor. I couldn't think of a better wedding to see featured on Style Me Pretty either. I mean c'mon, bouquets of paper flowers?! Gah, absolutely love. You can check out the feature here, and see their wedding in it's entirety here.
Another blog that I absolutely adore, A Paper Proposal also recently featured Wes & Emily's engagement at Appleton Farms in Ipswich. We had so much fun that spring morning walking the farm and the trails surrounding the property. We even got to feed some adorable, albeit, smelly cows! If you'd like to see their engagement click here. To view the feature click here. A Paper Proposal is a great resource for all you brides out there so make sure to scroll around for some inspiration!
Recently I was talking with another industry peer about having your work featured on blogs. We chatted about blogs and how exciting it can be to see some of your favorite images on some of your favorite blogs. But even more important, we chatted about how excited we feel for each of our couples! They work so hard on planning each detail of their day. From the small to the big, these details are a labor of love for each of our couples. To see their hard work recognized and praised can be such a fantastic feeling to a bride. And to know that I've captured their labor of love, their wedding, in a way that truly describes each element of their day, is such a rewarding feeling as a photographer.
Recently several of my couple's weddings have been featured and I am really excited to share them with you here. You've probably already seen their wedding, but check out the features too! It's fun to see how another person sees that wedding differently. To all my couples who have been featured, congratulations! I'm so happy to see your hard work is continuing to bring joy to people well beyond the wedding day!
I was SO excited to see Debs & Alex's beautiful vineyard wedding featured on Elizabeth Anne Designs recently. Mod Cloth bridesmaids dresses, beautiful hydrangea bouquets and a ton of DIY reception details, it's a wedding not to be missed! You can check out the feature here.
Today I am off to Concord to attend an all day workshop with Justin & Mary. To say I am excited it BEYOND an understatement:) So while I am off learning all about my business I thought I'd share with you a few recent features! First up is a lovely little feature from Heart Love Weddings. On Saturday I got a little surprise in my in-box from Alexandra that she picked one of my images for the Saturday Snapshot. I am happy that this image from Josiah and Allison's Love Recaptured was picked! A favorite of mine for sure:)
Another feature for Deborah Zoe Photo clients:)! I am so excited that two couples have been recently featured on Beantown Bride recently. If you haven't check it out, Beantown Bride is a great resource for those of you planning a wedding in Massachusetts. They also have great wedding tips and advice for all your brides out there! Cynthia and Mark's Southie engagement at Castle Island was featured here.
Thank you so much Brittany and the Beantown Bride team for sharing these couples with your readers! Enjoy!
I love blogs and I love weddings so it's no surprise that I LOOOOOOOOVE wedding blogs. I'd scour them all day if I could. There is just something so fun about being able to peek into the day of another couple. I love seeing all the unique and individual details, the dress, the flowers, everything that makes their day so special. That's why I get so excited when I see my couples featured on weddings blogs. I know that others out there are feeling the same exact way as me. There is just something magical about sharing in the different stories of happy couples in love. Recently Cassandra and Sean's James Dean inspired engagement session was featured on Brooklyn Bride, extra exciting for them (and me:)) since they live in Brooklyn. Love:)
John & Carisa's elegant country club wedding was recently featured on Elizabeth Anne Designs. I am SO excited about this feature. I love her blog and the weddings that Ami shares with her readers. I am so honored to have my work featured and to be able share this beautiful wedding with others. Make sure to check out Table & Tulip's floral design too. Carisa's bouquet was amazing!!
Finally Ben & Liz's city engagement session was featured on Pretty Little Weddings recently with an adorable write up about how they met and why they chose to have their session in Dorchester. Such an adorable and beautiful couple they are!
I am so excited to share some exciting new for some of my 2011 couples:) Andy and Alissa, you're CHILLY but cozy winter engagement session was featured on Borrowed & Bleu last month. Make sure to check out the feature here and enjoy reliving your engagement!
Ben and Liz, The Budget Savvy Bride graciously featured your wedding last month as well. Jessica loved your bright colors and your tips on stretching your budget to throw a fantastic party! To learn more about how exactly Liz was The Budget Savvy Bride, check out the feature here. There are some great ideas for all your brides out there!!
The twitterverse is truly something amazing. When I first joined Twitter I thought it was ridiculous. And to be honest, I still don't use Twitter to it's fullest potential. But lately I've definitely seen the benefits of using this social media tool. For example, twitter helped me win a trip to Napa. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined that I'd have the chance to travel all the way across the USA with my husband to enjoy some wine and photography, all because I tweeted. What's even more, Twitter has allowed me to connect with various professionals in the wedding industry, like, Kate of Prepare to Wed. She recently sent out a tweet asking for images for carnations. Immediately my thoughts went to the beautiful bouquet that Sarah of K. Lilly Design created for her Love ReCaptured session back in January. Kate graciously featured two of the images of that bouquet with a cute write up on the significance of Princess Catherine's flower choices. You can see more of the feature here. Thanks Kate!!
In other blog related news, our Ballerina Meets Bridal Inspired shoot was featured on Bow Ties and Bliss! I am so excited to see the work of all the talented vendors involved featured:)! Congrats everyone!
I am SO excited to share that Andy and Alissa's wedding has been featured on Love and Lobster. I LOVE this blog, and for those brides getting married in New England, this site is a great resource for inspiration and ideas. It has this adorable and unique New England feel to it. Maybe I am a bit bias, but I'm smitten. Go check out their feature and the sweet love story of Andy and Alissa! Enjoy!
